Dietitian

Flying Start Children's Therapy

Caroline is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) who specialises in paediatric nutrition.   As well as private practice she currently works at Royal Children’s Hospital and Murdoch Children's Research Institiute in Melbourne. 

 

Caroline has experience in all areas of infant and child nutrition but has a special interest in food allergy and intolerance.  She is the chair of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology & Allergy (ASCIA) dietitians committee and contributes to writing and presenting the bi-annual ASCIA Food Allergy and Adverse Food Reactions Course for Dietitians.  

 

Caroline recently moved down to the Surf Coast with her family and as a mother of an active toddler she is sympathetic to the everyday challenges faced by parents.  She is passionate about supporting children and their families achieve their nutrition goals by providing evidence based, practical and patient centered advice.

 

Clinical Interests:

  • Infant & child nutrition

  • Food allergy & intolerance

  • Growth concerns

  • Gastrointestinal conditions

  • Limited diets including oral aversion

  • Enteral tube feeding & weaning

 

Scope of Practice for Allergy Action Plans & Testing:

  • Caroline is able to sign ASCIA Action plans for delayed reactions to food (blue plans) 

  • If you are needing an ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis (red plan) or immediate Allergic Reactions (green plan) these need to be signed by a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner

  • If your child requires skin prick testing or specific IgE blood testing please seek a referral from your GP to an Allergy Specialist Doctor
