Party Pals
Party Pals is a fun, practice-based social program that helps children build birthday party skills, self-advocacy, and confidence through games, celebration, and real party experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Led by therapists, sessions focus on the sights, sounds, and social rules of a birthday party through hands-on practice and guided play. Children are encouraged to explore party routines at their own pace, build confidence in new or overwhelming situations, and enjoy the social side of celebrating while developing essential communication and self-advocacy skills.
Goals include:
-
Self-advocacy: express preferences, and communicate needs in social settings
-
Social communication: practise turn-taking, reciprocity, and understanding party "rules" and routines
-
Emotional and Sensory regulation: understand and develop coping strategies for noise, excitement, and unpredictability in a safe and supportive environment.
-
Flexible thinking: navigate winning, losing, waiting, and unexpected moments with confidence
-
Social confidence: practise socialising with peers in a low-pressure setting
Party Pals is all about celebrating, connecting, and having fun. Helping children feel confident at every party to come.
